One Club
As you may now be aware there is an effort underway to form a single club made up of the existing 5 clubs (Mission, Westside, Lake Country, Kelowna and Rutland). A COYSA committee was formed to explore the advantages and disadvantages of forming a single club.
The Committee gave a public presentation to our club on October 13, 2005. During the question period a number of important questions and concerns were raised. Some of these dealt with issues such as field development, organization structure, player development, and the impact these changes would have on players fees. Although the committee put together a lengthy report it was not clear to many as to how this proposed structure would successfully deal with these issues. It was clear that much more information would be needed before a decision is made.
Your Executive will follow-up on the questions/concerns raised and has already asked the committee to provide additional information . Once all the information has been gathered a special meeting will be held with our membership to discuss this proposal and to vote on whether to form one club or not. Information will be mailed out to our membership or posted to this website to ensure everyone has all the available facts to make an informed choice. This proposal, if adopted, will have a very significant impact on the nature of soccer in our area.
Please check this website on a frequent basis for the latest information. So that you don't have to go through a lot of "old" information we will indicate when the section was last updated and provide a brief comment on the updates. That way you can easily check just the information that has changed since your last visit.
